Uppinangady: 4 arrested after gang ‘murderously’ assaults man who ‘refused to marry off his daughter’

Uppinangady: Police arrested 4 of the six persons who assaulted a man with deadly weapons after barging into his house here for allegedly refusing to marry off his daughter.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammad Nizamuddin (25) son of Shahul Hameed, Taufeeq (20) son of Ismail, Abdul Salim (23) son of Mohammad, and Mohammad Shafiq (22) Son of Hussainar. Two other accused — Naseer and Sameer– are still at large.
Tahira, the wife of the victim Usman Beary, lodged a complaint at the Uppinangady police station about the assault.
According to the complaint, the attack took place on Friday, November 25, at around 11:15 PM at Ayodhya Nagar of Biliyur village.
Nizamuddin, one among the accused, had allegedly sought the hand of the victim’s daughter in marriage, however, Usman had refused the alliance. Angered by this, Nizamuddin and others barged into Usman’s residence with weapons and launched a “murderous” assault on him, the complainant said.
Usman who suffered injuries in the attack has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru, the complaint adds.
Meanwhile, police have produced the 4 arrested accused in the court. They are also on the lookout for the remaining accused who are absconding.
