Bengaluru: Minister for Ecology, Environment and Tourism Anand Singh who had threatened to quit the Cabinet if his portfolios were not revised, finally withdrew his resignation.
After a brief talk with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday, August 24 at his home office Krishna in the city, Singh said that his disappointment is over now and he has taken charge as minister for Tourism, Ecology and Environment.
It is said that Bommai asked Singh to be patient and he will resolve the issue after speaking with the party high command when he goes to Delhi on Wednesday.
Anand Singh said, ” “I met CM and Nalin Kumar Kateel and both asked me to take charge of the given portfolio. Also, the CM has promised that he will respond to my demand positively.”
Minister R Ashok said that Anand Singh does not have any disappointment and everything has been resolved.
Earlier, Anand Singh had indirectly threatened to quit the Cabinet if his portfolios were not revised. “I had requested CM Bommai and former CM BS Yediyurappa for the portfolio of my choice. They had assured me of considering my request. But I was allotted Tourism and Ecology portfolios which I didn’t ask for. I am disappointed,” said Anand Singh.
