Bengaluru: A Bengaluru man has been arrested for allegedly cheating a Delhi businessman of over Rs 10 crore on the pretext of selling radioactive material.
The accused has been identified as Atheeq Ahmad. Ahmad allegedly promised businessman Sanjay Taneja, a paint and hardware trader based in East Kailash of Delhi, Rs 500 crore profit for facilitating the sale of the radioactive material, which was purportedly approved by the Defence Research and Development Organisation.
The sale of purported DRDO materials was delayed citing various reasons for testing and maintenance of the materials at various firms, run by the accused.
In his complaint, Taneja said that he was cheated between March 2016 and September 2018 by a fraud gang of 21 including Ahmad.
The accused was arrested by Delhi Police.
