Bengaluru: Murder accused arrested after 12 years

Bengaluru: Yeshwantpur police officials on Tuesday arrested a murder accused after 12 years in Bengaluru.

The arrested accused has been identified as Ramesh (42).

Ramesh was arrested after police officials who were on night patrol noticed him moving suspiciously and confronted him. They checked his fingerprints in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS) and found that he is a criminal.

In August 2005, Ramesh was booked for murdering a house owner over a trivial issue in Tavarekere.

He along with his acquaintances was arrested by Byadarahalli police and five years later he was out on bail. However, Ramesh jumped bail and absconded.

He has now been arrested and handed over to Byadarahalli police officials.
