Bengaluru: In a major development related to the suicide case of the BJP leader Anantharaju, the accused Rekha on Wednesday attempted suicide in front of Byadarahalli police station.
Recently, Byadarahalli police investigating the case of the death of the BJP leader arrested his female friend Rekha (38), a resident of KR Puram. However, she was later released on bail.
On Wednesday, Rekha came to the police station to register a complaint against Anantharaju’s wife Suma.
She alleged that despite several complaints, no action is being taken against Suma. “I am not getting the justice I deserve,” she added.
Rekha then tried to jump in front of an oncoming BMTC bus. She was stopped by her relatives who consoled her and took her home.
An audio clip which is said to be a conversation between Anantharaju’s wife Suma B K and Rekha was submitted to the police officials. Suma was heard threatening Rekha and Anantharaju in the clipping.
Rekha said that she did not demand money from Anatharaju and that they were in a live-in relationship for the past 6 years.
“Anantharaju’s wife was torturing him which is why he committed suicide. Suma is now threatening me and my children. I have registered a complaint against her,” she said.
