Case filed against a youth for sharing derogatory post against Congress on Social Media

Udupi: A youth has been booked for allegedly violating the election code of conduct for posting posts via social media platforms supporting BJP and sharing derogatory comments on Congress.
The accused has been identified as Akshay P Shetty from here.
It has been alleged that Akshay posted content on social media with political clippings from a web page named ‘Trishul’.
Akshay allegedly posted contents supporting BJP and against Congress party.
Akshay has shared a post Udupi BJP social media group, and urged people to vote for the BJP by posting pro-BJP pictures.
Noticing Akshay’s posts, Congress members lodged a complaint to the election commissioner and to the deputy commissioner.
Udupi police have registered a case against Akshay under the Representation of People’s Act 1951 and 1998.
