Cong registers win in Ballari; Reddy’s ousted from home turf

Ballari: Ballari Congress candidate VS Ugrappa registered massive victory over BJP candidate V Shantha thus managing to end the reign of the Reddy brothers in their home turf.
Ugrappa defeated Shantha, a former parliamentarian and sister of BJP leader B Sriramulu, aide of Reddy brothers with a margin of 2,43,161 votes.
The counting of votes for Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in Karnataka bypolls began on Tuesday morning. Facing their first major political test since merging as an alliance, the Congress-JD(S) have managed to deliver a major blow to the BJP in the Karnataka bypolls by registering win in both the assembly constituencies and clinching two of the three Lok Sabha seats in the bitterly fought by-polls held on Saturd
