DK MP meets PM Modi, apprises of progress in district

Mangaluru:  Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apprised him of the progress in the district made in Mudra and Janadhan, the dream schemes of PM.

The MP handed over to Modi a report of encouraging 1.12 lakh people to become entrepreneurs by extending Rs 1,600 crore in loan which the PM commended. Later the PM held a meeting with the union secretary of finance Rajiv K R and asked Mr Rajiv to implement the schemes in the entire country and make it a model and also fully cooperate to implement other schemes of the Centre in Dakshina Kannada district. The MP was congratulated by the PM and officials of the finance ministry for his work.

During the meeting, the MP also submitted an appeal to the PM regarding pending projects and new projects in the district to which the PM responded that he is very fond of the people in Dakshina Kannada district. The PM also assured that he will be holding a meeting with officials regarding the appeal and asked the officials to cooperate with regarding project implementations in the future.

Of the many requests submitted to the PM included the establishing of a Central University in Dakshina Kannada district, IT Park, Super Specialty Hospital or All India Institute of Medical Science, upgrading fisheries college and expedite approval of pending projects in the district.
