Mangaluru: In a heartfelt letter addressed to Mangaluru police commissioner Dr P S Harsha, a 20-year-old boy who was addicted to drugs has thanked the city police for saving his life.

In the letter written by the boy, he states that he could not concentrate on studies or in activities due to his drug addiction problem. However, on Sep 2, the boy was caught consuming drugs and was brought to Kavoor Police Station. Here, Inspector Raghu and ACP Srinivas counseled the boy and motivated him to give up drugs.

“They have led me in a good direction, with good and better ways to lead life. Now, I have quit my habits completely. Your police officers have thought me how to take precautions when I feel like getting back. This has helped me. I and my family are really grateful to the police department,” wrote the youth.

The Commissioner shared the letter on twitter, adding results can be achieved through tools other than arrest and cases.
