Excise violation in DK district: 461 cases booked

Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil on Monday informed that as many as 461 cases have been booked for excise violation under violation of Model Code of Conduct.
Speaking to media persons here at a press meet Senthil informed that 84,181 litres of alcohol valuing Rs 93,92,437 has been seized by the Election Commission.
Officials have so far seized a truck, a tanker, three two-wheelers, three lorries, 1907 pamphlets, three cars and FIRs have been filed in three expenditure related cases he said. Out of 11,631 weapons, exemptions have been given to 86 weapons for bank security purpose and the remaining have been deposited in police stations, he added.
Further he informed that out of the 32 complaints received under cVigil app, 8 have been dropped and others duly attended. Similarly barring three calls that are pending all 2598 calls received on the toll free number 1950 have been addressed.
More importantly, he informed that unlike earlier elections where voter slip was considered a valid identity document along with ration card this time round Epic card is a must. this apart voters can present documents like passport, driving licence, Aadhaar card, pan card, MNREGA job card,
