Five of a family killed in car crash

Ballari: Five from a family, including a doctor couple, were killed after the car they were travelling in collided with a bridge on Bidar-Srirangapatna High way near Kurugodu in Ballari on Friday. 

The deceased has been identified as Dr Santosh (36), wife Dr Archana (34), daughter Lakshmi (3) and Santosh’s dad Siddramappa (60). Sathosh’s mom Leelavathi breathed her last at the Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences hospital in Ballari. The doctor couple’s three-year-old son Thanush is grievously injured and is undergoing treatment at VIMS. 

The family was from Chalakapur in Bhalki taluk of Bidar. They were going to Bengaluru. The car hit the bridge after it moved toward Bhagyanagar on Bidar Srirangapatna highway.
