Fraudster fools in the name of help, loot Rs. 70,000

Kumta: In yet another incident of ATM theft reported at SBI ATM near the bus stand in Kumta, a stranger entered the ATM to help the victim who was making a cash withdrawal and looted about Rs. 70,000.
Manjunath Borkar, who works as a Court Bailiff at the Kumta court is the victim here.
The fraudster entered the ATM vestibule to help the victim while he was withdrawing money. The accused placed another card in place of Manjunath’s and fled the place.
The fraudster later withdrew money up to Rs. 70,000 using the victim’s card.
The victim after learning about the money deducted from his card filed a complaint at the nearest police station. The Kumta police are on the lookout for the accused.
