Hassan: An incident of an auto-rickshaw driver murdering another driver for charging less fare from passengers was reported from the district here.

The accused Prasanna (31), a resident of Mysuru district, murdered Jagadish (42), a resident of Arakalagud taluk.

Both worked from the rickshaw stand at Piriyapatna-Ramanathapura.

When Prasanna realised that Jagadish was charging less fare from passengers resulting in him getting fewer passengers he allegedly hatched the conspiracy to kill Jagadish.

On the night of August 26, Prasanna took Jagadish in his autorickshaw on some pretext. He drove to a remote spot, attacked Jagadish and escaped.

Prasanna was arrested by police on Saturday.
