Mangaluru: Youth Congress president Mithun Rai clarified that the Congress party has never betrayed him and he will continue working for the betterment of the party.

Addressing the media here at Congress office, he said, “Youth Congress has always supported me and has never done injustice to me. Congress has never betrayed me. It is a natural to feel bad when denied a party ticket. I was not expecting a ticket from Moodbidri because current MLA Abhay Chandra Jain was still campaigning and worked in the constituency,”

“Congress president Rahul Gandhi asked me to work towards the development of Indian Youth Congress and this role is of utmost importance to me,” he said.

When questioned on resignation of Youth Congress members he said, “Today along with district-in-charge minister and youth president held a discussion and have rejected all the resignations. We want Rahul Gandhi to become our PM. Our main goal is to win over in all the 8 constituencies in the upcoming assembly polls.
