Kannada News channel’s CEO arrested

Bengaluru: The State Police have arrested the CEO of a Kannada News Channel over allegations of extortion.

Suhail Sheriff and Misbah Mukaram from the Injaz Group informed the Bengaluru police of issue and the threatening they had received to defame them through a TV program on his channel. The two stated that he demanded to pay a whooping 15 crores.

At around 10 pm on Friday, the businessmen entered channel’s office and met the CEO and his assistant as planned. The police raided the office of the channel when the businessmen were handing over the money and seized it.

The duo have been booked under Section 384 of the IPC (punishment for extortion).
