Kannur airport: Man caught smuggling gold worth Rs 28 lakh

Kannur: A man attempting to smuggle gold weighing 899 grams of gold was caught by customs officials at Kannur International Airport on Saturday October 12.
The accused is identified as Shareef, native of Mavval Pallikere who arrived from Abu Dhabi in GoAir flight and had concealed about 899 grams of gold in a compound/paste form in his rectum.
The seized precious metal is estimated to be worth around Rs 28 lakh. The accused has been arrested and a case has been booked.
