Kaup: Scolded by mother, teen hangs self

Kaup: A 13-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself after being scolded by her mother for spending most of the time on mobile phone.
The deceased identified as Srijanya, daughter of Jayaram, a resident of Admar in Yellur village here was studying in class 7 in Lions School at Padubidri.
On Monday, April 13 evening Srijanya’s mother told her to help in the household chores rather than waste time watching mobile phone. Angered by this Srijanya retreated to the bedroom. After some time her parents went to check on her and found her hanging. They immediately rushed her to a hospital in Udupi where doctors declared her brought dead.
A case has been registered at Kaup police station.
