Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar MR on Thursday, March 30 informed that there will be no restrictions on any religious rituals or programs, including Yakshagana, Aradhane Kola, and Nema when the Model code of conduct is in force.

The Model code of conduct came into force on March 29 ahead of assembly polls scheduled on May 10.

However, any political leaders participating in these programs, activists engaging in abuse, or voter wooing will face disciplinary action, he added.

The local election officer must be informed and permission obtained to put up banners and buntings about these programs.

Marriage and other ceremonies can be conducted without restriction, but the local administration must be informed.

Political parties using helipads to call venue, platform, or star campaigners for their election campaigns must apply and obtain appropriate permission through the ‘Suvidha’ app.

The public can file complaints related to election code of conduct violations through the C-Vigil Mobile App, which allows for complaints through both text and video.

GP Chief Executive Dr. Kumar, Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Kumar Jain, District Superintendent of Police Dr. Vikram Amate, and Additional District Collector H. Krishna Murthy were present at the press conference.
