Kundapur: Class 7 student dies of suspected heart attack, just a day after his b’day

In a tragic incident, a class 7 student died after collapsing on Saturday a day after his birthday in Tallur here.

The deceased identified as Pruthwiraj Shetty, son of Arun Kumar Shetty was studying in Hattiangadi Siddivinayaka School.

On Saturday, Pruthwiraj who was waiting for his school bus with his mother developed chest pain and collapsed. His mother rushed him to a hospital in Manipal but he died en route.

Notably his elder sister, Anushree died at the age of 13 due to a heart attack on October 27 last year. The death of Pruthwiraj comes as a tragic blow to his parents who have lost both their children in a year’s span.

The exact cause of Pruthwiraj’s death will be known only after the post-mortem report is received. A case has been registered at Kundapur police station.
