Malpe fishermens delegation to meet defence minister tomorrow

Malpe: A Malpe fishermen delegation under the leadership of MLA Rahupati Bhat and MP Shobha Karandlaje have left for New Delhi on Aug 5th with the aim to meet the defence minister there in connection to the Suvarna Tribhuja deep sea trawler tragedy. The delegation will demand highest compensation for the families of the fishermen who went missing with the boat and also clarify on the reason behind the tragedy.
The delegation will meet finance minister Nirmala Seetharaman on Aug 6th. Later, they will meet defence minister Rajnath Singh and give details regarding the incident. They will plead that justice be done to the families of the missing fishermen. The delegation will later meet fisheries minister Giriraj Singh and request him to provide exception from road cess to diesel used for fishing, informed the fishermens association’s former president Satish Kunder.
