Man sets ablaze pregnant wife, daughter over petty argument

Chamarajanagar: A 24-year-old pregnant woman and her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter died after being set on fire allegedly by her husband and in-laws over a petty argument.

The victims identified as Lakshmi and her daughter Praneetha were rushed to the Chamarajanagar district hospital by their neighbors but they succumbed to their injuries soon after.

The accused Somashekhar and his parents have gone absconding soon after and the police have formed a special team to nab them.

As per a complaint filed by Lakshmi’s parents, the couple used to have frequent quarrels in their four-year married life.
