Mangaluru gets new police commissioner

Mangaluru: The state government has appointed Dr Subramanyeswara Rao as the new city police commissioner with immediate effect.
A notification to this effect was issued today (August 1).
Prior to this posting Dr Rao, an IPS officer of 2002 batch, served as IGP in intelligence department. He has also served as superintendent of police in Dakshina Kannada district earlier.
The outgoing commissioner Sandip Patil has been transferred as DIG & Joint commissioner of police, crimes, Bengaluru city with immediate effect.
