Raichur: If certain sources are to be believed, Maski Congress MLA Pratap Gowda is also likely to tender his resignation on Wednesday, July 3.
Speaking to presspersons on the issue Pratap said that he will take the appropriate decision in the next one or two days.
Gowda, who was in Maski till Monday morning, left for Bengaluru in a hurry after receiving a call from a BJP leader. Before leaving for Bengaluru, however, he informed reporters that he was not aware of MLA Anand Singh’s resignation.
Anand Singh and Ramesh Jarkiholi resigned from the state assembly membership on Monday. Singh said he submitted his resignation to Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar. However, Kumar said he was not aware of any such resignation, adding that no leader contacted him.
Ramesh Jarkiholi also resigned from the state assembly membership and submitted his resignation to the Speaker on Monday. However, Ramesh’s resignation comes as no surprise and ends months of speculation about his future.
Ramesh and Singh’s resignation comes at a time when cracks seem to appear in the Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress coalition in the state.
