Police Arrest One Accused in Firing on Tribal Settlement in Diddalli

Madikeri: The police arrested Maldare Guduru resident A Punachcha along with a motor cycle and a gun in connection with a firing on tribal settlements at Diddalli in Madikere earlier this week. The accused has said that he fired at the tribal settlement to warn them as they failed to appear for daily labor after taking advance from him. However, the police haven’t yet confirmed his irresponsible statement and continuing their investigation on the forces trying to kick the tribals out of the area.
Unidentified assailants were attacked the huts located in Diddalli at night on April 10. There were no casualties reported in the incident as there was heavy rain and no one was staying the settlement. Speaking on the incident, Paniyaravara Basava of Diddalli has said that unknown assailants tried to attack his settlement on April 10 and fortunately he wasn’t in the spot when the attack took place. However, he arrived at the spot when he heard firing sound and tried to stop the attackers from firing. Following this, the assailants tried to attack him and he narrowly escaped from the danger.
