Police slaps PSA against hardcore criminal in Jammu, sent to jail

Jammu: Police has detained a hardcore criminal after authorities slapped the Public Safety Act (PSA) against him and sent him to jail in the city.

The district magistrate has slapped the PSA against criminal Paramjit Kumar alias Jangi of R S Pura and was detained by the police and later sent to the Kot Bhalwal jail, a police official said.

The accused was involved in six different cases, including attempt to murder and illegal possession of weapons in various police stations in the R S Pura belt since 2011, he said.

A dossier was prepared by the police and submitted to the district magistrate, the official said.
