Precautionary action for election: Commissioner

Mangaluru: Strict precautionary action has been taken within Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate limits with the aim to prevent the occurrence of any untoward incident during the elections and for the peaceful conduction of the polling, informed city police Commissioner Sandeep Patil.
A company of CRPF personnel has arrived to provide security to Mangaluru city. Already, a joint march has been taken out by CAPF and the Police Department at 12 sensitive areas. Around 1,957 guns have been surrendered to the police stations. 447 persons with non-bailable warrant s have been arrested and produced in the Court. 1,206 rowdy sheeters have been warned and promissory letters have been procured from them under precautionary law. All police staffs and officials have been provided traiing on election duty, informed the commissioner.
