Protest on Goa Congress stand: BJP workers block highway

Gadag: The goa state congress was denounced by the BJP workers regarding the Mahadayi river sharing dispute calling for a bandh in Nargund, Gadag district today.
The protesters burnt tyres, blocked highways and forcefully closed down shops.
BJP Nargund President Mallappa Meti said that the congress was trying to disconcert the Mahadayi water dispute while BJP is trying to settle it. The bundh was to protest against this issue and will be taken out to the main streets of the town to end at Raitha Veeragallu from Nargund .
Inspite of tight security of DYSPs, PSIs, ASIs, CIPs, DAR platoons, KSRP platoons, 120 police staff and 100 homeguards the BJP workers burnt tires and shouted slogans against the Congress. The situation couldn’t be controlled. The blockage resulted in huge traffic disruption on Huballi-Vijayapura National Highway.
