RED ALERT: Holiday declared for schools in DK on August 8

Mangaluru: As the downpour continues in the district, the Dakshina Kannada district administration has declared holiday to all anganwadis, schools and PU colleges in the district on Thurday [August 8].

A holiday was also declared on Wednesday, August 7 also due to rains for schools and colleges.

Deputy commissioner, Sasikanth Senthil as a precautionary measure also warned people not to venture into sea, rivers and dangerous areas during the rains.

The IMD has warned that the coast is likely to receive heavy rainfall till August 8. Hence a red alert has been declared.
