Shiroor seer death; woman arrested

Beltangady: The police arrested a woman who was allegedly associated with late Sri Laxmivara Swamiji from the Shirror Mutt here.

The accused has been identified as Ramya Shetty from Bramhavara in Udupi. 

It has been reported that, the accused was trying to flee from here and was in a burkha when the police interrogated her car at Venur here on Sunday.

The woman has been handed over to Udupi police.

Police had earlier taken her into custody for questioning and later released her. 

On Sunday, Ramya along with three other women, were travelling in a car. When they reached Aladangady Shree Sathyadevathe temple, the car suffered a tyre puncture. When they went to get the tyre repaired, some of the locals grew suspicious seeing a burqa-clad woman inside the car.
