Shirror seer to contest as an independent candidate

Udupi: Sri Lakshmivara Theertha from Shiroor Mutt plans to contest as an independent candidate.

Addressing the gathering here, he said, “Since the BJP does not intend to give me a ticket to contest from Udupi assembly constituency, I will file my nomination as an independent,”

Seer is said to file his nomination by April 21.

Lakshmivara Theertha swamy said that he will focus on villages that have not been touched by development.

Lakshmivara Theertha had earlier approached the BJP party to contest elections from here. But the seer was denied of any ticket from the party head, post which he chose to file his nominations to contest as an independent candidate.
