SKDRDP announces Rs 10 crore towards Kodagu relief ops

Sullia: The Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) will donate a sum of Rs 10 crore towards relief and rehabilitation works of those affected in Kodagu floods.

Having collected the requisite details of the losses resulting out of the calamity, from the Kodagu project director, Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade announced his decision to sanction a total of Rs 10 crore to the flood-affected.

The said amount will be used towards the repair of houses, buying of essential household items and for rejuvenation of farmlands.

Accordingly, a sum of Rs 2.61 crore has been sanctioned for repair of 1044 houses with each house getting Rs 25,000. An amount of Rs 2 crore has been sanctioned for purchase of essential day to day items i.e Rs 15,000 each to 1335 households. As 1,450 acres of agricultural land belonging to 1,117 families have been damaged, Heggade announced a sum of Rs 25,000 per family, totally costing Rs 2.80crore. Rs 60 lakh was sanctioned for rain-affected families of Sakleshpura and Arakalagoodu.

Apart from the above, the SKDRDP employees have decided to contribute their three-day wages/salaries towards relief and rehabilitation operation.
