Thundershowers in NK- 1 dead, 3 injured

Bengaluru: Thundershowers, combined with lightning, lashed North Karnataka on Friday. Skies opened up in parts of Belagavi, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Haveri and Gadag regions. Heavy showers in Gadag-Betageri and Laxmeshwar on Friday evening brought a break from the sweltering heat.
Three people were injured when a tree fell on a saloon near Anjuman Polytechnic. The harmed were admitted to a hospital.
Laxmeshwar village and surrounding villages excessively got rain for 15 minutes. Solid breezes effected power supply in the town. An elderly man was struck dead by lightning near Lokapur in Bagalkot area. The deceased has been identified as Nagappa Ullagaddi (70), a resident of Singapur.
It drizzled hailstones in Hanagal and Ranebennur in Haveri. Haveri, Byadgi, Hirekerur, Savanur and Shiggaon taluks excessively experienced thundershowers late at night.
Hoovinahadagali town and parts of the taluk in Ballari region recorded direct to overwhelming showers for more than 30 minutes. Water spouted into a few houses in low-lying zones. Paddy and groundnut crops on huge tract of land have been harmed in the inconvenient rain.
Direct to substantial downpours joined by solid breeze and lightning lashed a few sections of Hosanagar taluk in Shivamogga locale on Friday. Shivamogga, Bhadravarhi, Sagar, Thirthahalli additionally got direct rain at night.
It rained for around 30 minutes in Kalaburagi towards night.
