TV astrologer Dinesh Guruji held for raping and cheating of disciple

Bengaluru: A renowned astrologer was arrested on Saturday, April 21, for allegedly raping a female disciple several times and duping her of Rs 5O lakh.
The accused is none other than Dinesh Guruji (43). Dinesh Guruji, who calls himself a ‘World-class micro-astrologer’, runs a astrologer on Pipeline Road, Gangammanagudi. He runs a site and leads programs on TV regularly.
Police arrested him after the 28-year-old victim recorded a complaint of rape and cheating. In the complaint, the lady said that after she was inspired with Guruji’s TV programs, she approached him a year ago to learn astrology. He consented to help her and guaranteed a degree in astrology from one of the reputed institutions.
Amid the classes, Guruji frequently discussed tantric sex. He took her to daze and began sexually misusing her. Every one of these sessions occurred just when Guruji’s wife was not at home. The rapes occurred for many months. The lady says he was confident that one day she would get the ‘fortune’ Guruji had guaranteed.
In this way, Guruji requesting that her loan him cash and guaranteed to return it soon. Believing him, she persuaded her parents to help him and lent him Rs 50 lakh. The family had earned the money after selling a residential plot and planned to invest it elsewhere.
The victim informed the police that she chose to ‘expose’ the atrologer after discovering that he had sexually assaulted and tricked numerous ladies like her.
The police have recorded the complaint and filed a case.
