Udupi: The check post officials on Tuesday, May 19 denied permission for people from Mangluru from entering Udupi district citing that without a valid pass they won’t be permitted, despite government’s order that there is no need for a pass for inter-district travelling within the state.

Many from Mangaluru were stopped from entering Udupi district for not producing a valid pass for inter-district travelling.

This comes a day after the state government announced that there is no need to produce a pass for those travelling within the state, from one district to another.

When questioned about this the check-post head Pradeep told Udayavani that they have not yet received any order to permit inter-district travel without the pass.
