Udupi Model being followed by other districts: DC Jagadeesha

Udupi: Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, July 1, Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha stated that the successful recovery of a large number of COVID-19 patient has become a model that is now being followed by others district of the State.

He added that the credit for this goes to the physicians who were involved in the treatment of the COVID-19 patients.

He stated that presently there are four COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment in ICU in the district. Of these four, three are recovering and one is showing 25 per cent recovery.

As per government order, 600 drivers and conductors of KSRTC buses, mall workers, delivery boys, salesmen, businessmen and private bus drivers will be tested for the virus. Further training of COVID-19 Warriors in the district will be conducted to prevent them from getting infected, he added.

The beaches in the district have been opened, however, children and senior citizens are banned entry to it. Outside tourists should come to the district at present. Travel only if necessary, he said.

Jagadeesha also clarified that there is no evidence of COVID-19 spreading amongst students in the SSLC examination centres. All precautionary and safety measures to prevent such a situation is being taken.
