Sea erosion at Ullal, Someshwar Ucchila

Ullal: Sea erosion has started at Ullal and Someshwar Ucchila on Sunday and the temporary breakwater stones placed at Someshwa Ucchila has been consumed by the sea. More than 10 houses located here are facing imminent danger.

Although the rain intensity has dropped, the increase in the wind force has given rise to stronger waves. On Sunday evening, the sand beneath the stones placed as temporary breakwater for the length of 200M eroded and consequently the stones were washed away.

The waves are currently hitting the houses owned by Roopesh, Santsh, Taranath, Sanjeeva, Kishre, Chidananda and Pradeep. A shop owned by Chandappa also has suffered damage. The temporary breakwater structure has been facing this problem since the beginning in this area.

Waves are also crashing on houses at Seaground, Kileriya Nagar and Mukkacheri areas in Ullal.

Rough water at Malpe

Malpe: The sea has grown violent at Malpe areas with huge waves crashing on to the beach. On Sunday evening, the waves were strong enough to enter up till the safety nets installed to prevent the visitors from venturing into the water. However, no sea erosion was witnessed along the beach here.
