Violation of Election Code of Conduct: Election Commission Serves Notice to Srinivas Prasad

Bengaluru/Nanjangud: Election Commission has served notice to Srinivas Prasad, who is contesting as BJP candidate in the byelections scheduled to be held for Nanjangud state assembly constituency next month. The commission served notice to the BJP candidate on Monday for violating election code of conduct in a election campaign programme.
According to the notice served to Srinivas Prasad, he was given Rs 100 to a woman during his election campaign in the assembly area limits. The scene was captured by the election commission camera and following this, the commission was sent a notice to Prasad to give clarification on the matter. Former minister should submit a written explanation on the matter to the election commission within 24 hours after receiving the notice from it.
