Belagavi: MLA from Belagavi Rural Assembly constituency Lakshmi Hebbalkar has stated that she will contest from Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi’s represented Gokak constituency if the party wishes so.
Speaking at the airport here on Friday, she said that Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi was targeting rural areas so I will target the minister’s constituency of Gokak. Adding that if the party decides then she will be the Congress candidate from Gokak.
“I am not silent on the allegations made by Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi. People from my constituency will answer in the upcoming assembly elections. I will continue to serve the people and I hope that people in my constituency will answer Jarkiholi,” she added.
Commenting on the function organised by the BJP to honour its gram panchayats members in the Belagavi Rural constituency Hebbalkar said, “The BJP has come to power in four States by ‘hijacking’ lawmakers. So it is not a big issue for me if gram panchayat members from my constituency too were hijacked. They have lost faith in democracy. Having said that, I am willing to deal with anything.”
