Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Yediyurappa arrived in Hyderabad on Thursday on a short personal visit to attend a ‘yagam’ at the Ashram of prominent religious guru Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, BJP sources said.

The Karnataka BJP stalwart, who was sworn in chief minister last week, would attend the ‘yagam’ Friday morning and then leave for Bengaluru, they said.

He would stay in the ashram Thursday night, the sources said.

Yediyurappa had succeeded H D Kumaraswamy whose JDS-Congress coalition government had collapsed last month after rebellion by a big chunk of the ruling combine MLAs.
