New Delhi/Bengaluru: The youth wing of the Congress today staged a protest outside Parliament House against the Centre and the decision of the Karnataka Governor to invite BS Yeddyurappa for government formation.
Youth Congress workers gathered outside Parliament and raised slogans against the government as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Congress has dubbed Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala’s order as an “encounter of Constitution”.
Earlier in the evening, Vala invited Yeddyurappa to form the government and take oath as chief minister tomorrow. He also asked Yeddyurappa to seek a vote of confidence within 15 days of assuming office
The IYC said that the Governor seemed to be acting like “serving his masters’ in the BJP” rather than serving the Constitution.
“The BJP has launched Operation Kamal’ from Karnataka Raj Bhavan by “trashing our Constitution and murdering democracy” which is not at all acceptable, IYC condemns this decision, People of Karnataka & JD(S)-Cong will defeat the illegitimate design of BJP. IYC believes that ‘howsoever powerful you may be, the truth is above you’,” the Youth Congress said.
