District observes Police Martyrs Day

Mangaluru: The city observed the Police Martyrs Day on Sunday October 21st. Principal District and Sessions Judge Kadlur Satyanarayanacharya spoke on the occasion and lauded the role of the police force in maintenance of law and order.

414 police personnel had laid down their lives while discharging their duties last year in the nation, he noted.

District Superintendent of Police Dr B R Ravikanthegowda read out the list of police martyrs.

Floral tributes were paid to the martyrs on the occasion. Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, DCP (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya, ACP Manjunath Shetty and others took part in the occasion.
