Davangere: Higher Education Minister Dr. Ashwath Narayan said that Bharatiya Janata Party has its door open to all, including monks and seers.
Talking to reporters on Saturday, everyone has to participate in democracy and anyone who believes in BJP’s ideology can join it. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was a monk. He has also been elected to the Lok Sabha. Those who were monks have become MLAs and ministers, he said.
Further, He said that BJP has representatives from all walks of life. “Everyone is in our party. Therefore, everyone has an open invitation,” he said.
To a question about the Arkavati issue, Dr. Ashwath Narayan said “We have already said in the House that former CM Siddaramaiah has embezzled 8,000 crores in Arkavati district.” Further, he said that the Congress which won only 79 seats from 120 seats in the previous state Assembly elections will be further reduced to 52 seats, enough to fill a 52-seater bus.
Horatti not in favour Seers joining politics
Dharwad: Vidhan Parishad Chairman Basavaraja Horatti, meanwhile opined that it is not desirable that Swamijis, who are role models for society, leave the Mathas and appear in the Vidhan Sabha.
Speaking to reporters, he said, “As I have seen recently, most of the Swamijis stay in Vidhana Soudha… This is not the right development.”
Further, he said that he was not clear about in what sense BJP National President J.P. Nadda invited the Swamijis to join politics.
He regretted that many who exercise their right in a democracy are not aware of their duty. “A good government cannot arise until the electorate becomes wise,” he said.
