Newly married woman ends life; dowry harassment suspected

Kundapura: A newly married woman ends life by jumping into well at her her in-laws house in Siddpura Mangana Salu on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Gowri Devadiga (24) daughter of Achyutha Devadiga and Kamala.

Gowri got married to Ragavendra Devadiga few months ago.

Sources said that Gowri was allegedly harassed over dowry by her husband and in-laws. Gowri had informed about the harassment to her family.

Body has been sent to KMC hospital, Manipal for postmortem.

Raghavendra, sister-in-law Sadhu Devadiga and brother-in-law Mahendra Devadiga have been taken into custody and a case has been registered against them in Shankarnarayana police station.
