Mysuru: A priest of the famous Chamundi Hill temple was suspended Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep who is also the Administrative Officer and head of Disciplinary Committee of Chamundeshwari Temple. It is said that the priest kept Mangalarathi plate on top of the offering box despite of repeated warnings.
According to D. Randeep, the priest N Srinivasan used to keep the mangalarathi plate on top of the offering box completely blocking it. This indirectly forced the devotees to offer the money to mangalarathi plate which was causing huge loss of revenue to the temple. He also blocked the devotees from having darshan. The priest’s misdeed had been recorded in the temple’s CCTV cameras and the devotees had also complained about the same. The committee then decided to suspend the priest after going through all the misdeeds conducted by him.
