Serial accident at Asodu kills bike rider

Kundapur: A bike rider died on the spot in a tragic serial accident that occurred on Sunday afternoon, September 23rd. The unfortunate victim who lost his life in this accident has been identified as Gangadhara Acharya (42), a resident of Halady. He owned a welding shop at Halady.

Accident synopsis

On Sunday afternoon around 12:30pm, Gangadhara was travelling from Halady to Koteshwar on his bike. As he reached the chicken farm near Asodu of Kalavar, a car moving in front of his bike, in a bid to save a snake crossing the road suddenly applied brakes. This sudden application of brakes resulted in Mr Acharya crashing into the car since he was following it closely. The impact hurled Gangadhar on to the road.  In moments, a car which was coming from behind drove on the bike as well as Gangadhar Acharya killing him on the spot.

Helmet fails to deliver

The victim habitually wore helmet while riding his bike. However, the helmet failed to save his life during this accident as the car was at high speed when it rode over. The mortal remains of the victim have been shifted to the mortuary of the government hospital. Kundapur police have registered a case in this regard.
