Mysterious death of an infant; wound, bruises, bite marks

Kasaragod: The first report of the post mortem relating the mysterious death of a nine-month-old infant revealed that the infant had sustained a wound on its head and that there were bruise marks and bite marks on its body. The post mortem was done at Periyaram Medical College Hospital.

The deceased nine-month old infant Mohammed Adi, is the son of Munavvar and Mariyam couple from Keluru. On Dec 17th, the infant was brought to the local hospital stating that the infant had fallen off from the bed and sustained injuries. Later the infant was shifted to Uduma Hospital for further treatment.

During this occasion, the grandmother of the deceased child grew suspicious and contacted the child helpline and the district police officials. Hence to find cause behind the mysterious death of the infant, its corpse was taken to the Periyaram Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Since there are wounds on the body of the infant, even more in detail investigation is required, inform the police. Accordingly, the police have visited the house of the deceased infant and conducted investigations.
