Rebel Congress MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi arrives in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A day after Congress party sought disqualification of four rebel lawmakers under the Anti-Defection law for not attending the ongoing Karnataka Assembly budget session, Congress MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi arrived in Bengaluru on Tuesday, February 12 night.
Jarkiholi who was upset after being dropped from the cabinet during the ministry rejig on December 22 had not attended the Congress Legislature Party meeting ahead of the budget session and had been missing for the last 10 days.
Cracking the whip on the dissident leaders, the Congress Party on Monday, February 11 sought disqualification of four rebel lawmakers under the Anti-Defection law after they skipped the assembly session and legislature party meetings.
The Congress petitioned the assembly speaker Ramesh Kumar, seeking action against lawmakers Ramesh Jarkiholi, Umesh Jadhav, Mahesh Kumathali and B Nagendra weeks after giving them warnings to mend their ways and fall in line.
Congress Legislature Party leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met the Speaker and gave him a letter along with supporting documents to disqualify the four lawmakers.
