COVID-19: Four wards in Kalaburagi district sealed

Kalaburgi: Four wards at Wadi town in Kalaburagi district have been sealed in order to contain the COVID-19 infection, an official said.
The wards which have been sealed are: Ward Number 11, 12 13, 14, the vice-president of Wadi Town Municipal Council Mallayya Guttedar told P T I.
“Four wards have been sealed after a two-year-old child tested positive for coronavirus. Samples of his parents and relatives have been taken,” he said.
Guttedar said the wards which have been sealed are dominated by slums and a sizeable number of people are from the minority community.
The first death in the country due to COVID-19 had taken place in Kalaburagi.
The district also saw the second death.
So far, 13 cases coronavirus positive cases have been reported in Kalaburagi, of which nine are still active while two have been discharged.
This the second area, which has been totally sealed.
Two wards in Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Bapujinagar and Padarayanapura have been sealed as the people were not adhering to the government directions to not venture out.
In all, 247 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the state.
