Davanagere: Political secretary to Chief Minister Yediyurappa Renukacharya has stated that ministers should give up their ministerial berths to those whom they want to get a cabinet position instead of lobbying for them.

Speaking in the district here, Renukacharya added that if MLC Yogeshwar wants to become a minister then he must win the mandate of the people in an election and then demand ministership. Those ministers who wish that he should become a minister can vacate their position and hand it over to him.

“For BJP country comes first. We win elections through our organisation. There is no preferential treatment for loyal members and lateral entrants from other parties. In the end, we only care about providing good governance,” Renukacharya said.

Speaking on the issue of change of chief minister, he said that it is only an illusion. Nobody from the State BJP and the central leadership have even mentioned about it. Adding that the chief minister and the national leaders will decide on the cabinet expansion.
