Moodbidri:  Ashwin Pereira, who was denied ticket from the JD(S), filed his nomination as an independent candidate for the upcoming assembly elections as an independent candidate.

Ashwin Pereira was expecting a ticket from JD(S) party in Moodbidri constituency but it was given to veteran leader Amarnath Shetty.

Amarnath Shetty refused the ticket, and in his place, Jeevan Shetty was nominated.

Addressing the media, Ashwin said, “I had received a call from party leaders that I would be getting the B form and I should come over to collect it. But at the last minute, they changed their mind and gave it to someone else. I was not at all informed about all this. That is why I am going to contest as an independent and I know I will win.”
